Bot er en kommune i provinsen Catalonien, der tilhører Terra Alta. Det er en mellemstor kommune. Med kun 34,70 km² er det, efter Prat de Comte, den mindste af Terra Alta. Sprogforskeren Joan Coromines har påvist, at navnet på landsbyen har arabisk oprindelse. Det er dokumenteret, at det i år 1039 blev den muslimske familie Beni-Hud, der erstatter Tujubís i administrationen af Ebre-dalen samt taifas i Zaragoza og Lleida. Deres herredømme strækker sig frem til år 1099, hvor kontrollen over området falder i hænderne på almoraviderne fra de andalusiske taifas. Da ordet Hud definerer disse mennesker som folk, og Bu betyder "efterkommer af", ville betegnelsen Bu-Hud betyde "efterkommere af Hud". I 1224 bliver det allerede skrevet som Booth, og omkring 1600 blev det til Boot.
