Slaget ved Lutos fandt sted i år 794. På opdrag af emir Hisham I af Córdoba invaderede brødrene Abd al-Karim ibn Abd al-Walid ibn Mugaith og Abd al-Malik ibn Abd al-Walid ibn Mugaith kongeriget Asturien.
Abd al-Karim anvendte en politik med jorderosering i Álava, mens hans bror, Abd al-Malik, dirigerede sine tropper ind i hjertet af det asturiske kongerige. Bortset fra byen Oviedo mødte han lidt modstand. Han ødelagde en stor del af området, herunder kirker bygget af Fruela I af Asturien.
