Col de Portet d'Aspet er en bjergpas i en højde af 1.069 m. I 1995 faldt cyklisten Fabio Casartelli under Tour de France 1995 og mistede sit liv, da han ramte en stolpe med hovedet. Ulykken skete før den sidste sving med en stigning på 18 %. Med hovedskader blev han liggende, og han døde på vej til hospitalet. "Abandon", stod der på resultatlisten.
