Bryggeriet blev grundlagt i 1866, og i 1950, efter forskellige opkøb og fusioner, fik det navnet Brasserie Artesienne. Produktionstallet er derefter 45.000 hektoliter om året. Indtil 1985 var bryggeriet primært fokuseret på det regionale marked. I samme år blev bryggeriet købt af Saint-Arnould-gruppen og fik navnet bryggeriet de Saint-Omer.
