Wemeldinge ligger ved Oosterschelde og den nordlige munding af Kanalen gennem Syd-Beveland. I tidligere tider levede man især af fiskeri og østersfangst (De Oesterbaai). I mellemtiden har turister fundet landsbyen. Wemeldinge har pr. 2004 en stor marina, mange ferieboliger og to campingpladser.
