I begyndelsen af det 19. århundrede kom der en afslutning på skikken med at begrave de døde ved kirken. Den daværende borgmester i Ermelo, C.L. Vitringa, solgte en lille mark til kommunen, som blev taget i brug som kirkegård i 1829: 'De Kruiskamp'. I 1925 blev kirkegården officielt lukket. I 1996 blev kirkegården optaget på kommunens liste over monumenter, anlægget renoveret, og nogle grave blev istandsat.
