Marechaussekasernen i 's-Heerenberg er blevet reddet fra nedrivning takket være indsatsen fra nogle Berghenere som hr. Gijs van Elk og står nu som et af de smukkeste monumenter i Bergh på hjørnet af Plantsoensingel-syd og Emmeriksevej. Den marechaussee, der var garnisoneret i 's-Heerenberg, spillede også en vigtig rolle i Berghs krigshistorie.
