Det ligger sydøst for Joure og vest for Sintjohannesga, ikke langt fra Tjeukemeer. Det danner sammen med Sintjohannesga en tvillingeby. De to steder er også vokset sammen. Derudover samarbejdes der meget med det nærliggende Rohel, og derfor taler man også om et trillingeby.
