Vandretårnet i Sint Jansklooster blev bygget i 1931-1932 af Vandforsyningsselskabet Overijssel. Vandretårnet har en højde på 45,7 meter og et vandreservoir på 400 m³. Tårnet er designmæssigt beslægtet med vandtårnene i Steenwijkerwold og Raalte. I 2011 blev tårnet overdraget til den non-profit organisation BOEi af vandforsyningsselskabet Vitens. Arkitektfirmaet Zecc lavede en plan om at restaurere tårnet og omdanne det til et udsigtstårn. Gennem fire vinduer kan besøgende se ud over Steenwijk, Emmeloord, Zwolle og Meppel. Planen udføres af entreprenørfirmaet Jurriëns Noord.
