Fort i Botshol ligger i et rigt naturområde fra Natuurmonumenten.
Historie
Fort i Botshol er den eneste fæstning i Stellingen, hvis forsvarsværk fra 1895 er bevaret. Den bløde tørvemos omkring Amsterdam gjorde det nødvendigt at forstærke jordbunden med store mængder sand. Unikt er også broen bag vagthuset, hvis midtersektion kunne fjernes i tider med fare.
Fort i Botshol tjente til at forsvare adgangen dannet af søndermolen i Botshol og de tørre stræk i Noorder-Zuiderpolder.
