Kapellerlaan, der blev anlagt i 1730, var omkring midten af det 19. århundrede næsten helt ubebygget. Mellem 1860 og 1940 blev vejen, lidt efter lidt, fyldt med en kombination af herskabsboliger, butikslokaler og en enkelt villa.
Kapellerlaan 55-57 blev designet af den Roermondske arkitekt og entreprenør Henri Delsing. Den 8. januar 1885 indsendte han ansøgningen om byggetilladelse til kommunen Roermond. Han byggede bygningerne som spekulationsobjekter. Efter Henri Delsings død forblev bygningerne i familiens besiddelse.
