La Kapellerlaan, qui a été aménagée en 1730, était encore presque complètement non bâtie vers le milieu du 19e siècle. Entre 1860 et 1940, l'avenue a été construite petit à petit avec une combinaison de maisons de maître, de magasins et d'une villa.
Le bâtiment situé au 55-57 Kapellerlaan a été conçu par l'architecte et entrepreneur de Roermond, Henri Delsing. Le 8 janvier 1885, il a déposé une demande de permis de construire auprès de la commune de Roermond. Il a construit les bâtiments comme un objet de spéculation. Après la mort d'Henri Delsing, les bâtiments sont restés la propriété de la famille.
