Eckart var en lille herlighed, der i 1810 blev tilføjet kommunen Nederwetten, i 1821 kom til Woensel, og siden 1920 har været en del af kommunen Eindhoven i den hollandske provins Noord-Brabant. Det er nu et kvarter, der ligger i bydelen Dommelbeemd.
Oprindeligt var Eckart en ø, der var afgrænset af Dommel og et tidligere leje af denne flod, kaldet Dode Gracht, tidligere kendt som Den Doyen Graeff. På denne ø kan følgende toponymer findes:
