Eckart was een kleine heerlijkheid die in 1810 bij de gemeente Nederwetten werd gevoegd, in 1821 bij Woensel kwam, en sedert 1920 deel uitmaakt van de gemeente Eindhoven, in de Nederlandse provincie Noord-Brabant. Het is nu een buurt die in de wijk Dommelbeemd ligt.
Oorspronkelijk was Eckart een eiland, dat begrensd werd door de Dommel en een voormalige bedding van deze rivier, de Dode Gracht geheten, vroeger Den Doyen Graeff genaamd. In dit eiland zijn de volgende toponiemen aan te treffen:
