Øen Banholt er et geologisk objekt i Niederlands syd-Limburg og er en del af Margraten Plateau. Det er et markant højtliggende område i kuperet landskab med det højeste punkt i nærheden af landsbyen Banholt. Højden udgjorde først, sammen med højden af Hallembaye i sydvest og højden af Ubachsberg i nordøst, den nordlige dalvæg af dalen ved Oostmaas. Da Maas brød gennem den høje dalvæg og ændrede sit løb mod vest, blev højden til en ø, der som følge af Maas' stadig dybere indskæring begyndte at stige højere over dalen end andre floder. Højden dannede på den måde en adskillelse mellem dalene af Oostmaas og Westmaas.
