Faro er en by og kommune i det portugisiske distrikt Faro. Kommunen har et samlet areal på 202 km² og havde 58.051 indbyggere i 2001. Faro har en lang historie. For mere end 2000 år siden anlagde romerne allerede en stor havn der. I 1540 fik Faro byretter, og i 1756 blev byen hovedstad i Portugals sydligste provins.
