Das auffälligste Bauwerk ist die gotische Onze-Lieve-Vrouwbasiliek, die von 1240 bis 1544 erbaut wurde und in der die bekannte Statue von Onze-Lieve-Vrouw mit dem Kind aus dem Jahr 1476 bewundert werden kann. Der massive gelbkopferne Lesepult aus dem Jahr 1372 darf natürlich auch nicht fehlen, nebenunzähligen anderen Kunstwerken aus dem 13. bis 19. Jahrhundert. In der Kirche werden archäologische Ausgrabungen durchgeführt, die während der normalen Öffnungszeiten von einer Touristenanlegestelle aus besichtigt werden können. Neben der Kirche wurde ein römischer Turm aus dem 4. Jahrhundert freigelegt.
