Dieses Museum beherbergt Dutzende Werke eines der bedeutendsten flämischen expressionistischen Künstler. Die Sammlung erstreckt sich über die Zeitspanne von 1915 bis 1943. Aus der Smets Deurlese Periode sind 34 Werke ausgestellt, darunter Das Dorfsönnchen aus dem Jahr 1928. Das Museum Gust De Smet ist ein Erbe der Witwe des Malers an die Gemeinde Deurle. Es ist das Wohnhaus und das Atelier des Künstlers, in dem er von 1935 bis 1943 lebte und arbeitete.
