This museum houses dozens of works by one of the most prominent Flemish expressionist artists. The collection spans the years 1915 - 1943. From the Smets Deurle period, 34 works are on display, including The Village Sun from 1928. The Gust De Smet Museum is a legacy from the widow of the painter to the municipality of Deurle. It is the home and studio of the artist, where he lived and worked from 1935 to 1943.
