Es ist ein neoromanisches Bauwerk aus dem Jahr 1923, das als Ersatz für ein ähnliches Kirchengebäude aus dem Jahr 1877 errichtet wurde. Nicht nur während des Ersten, sondern auch während des Zweiten Weltkriegs wurde die Kirche schwer beschädigt. Die Reparaturen von 1947 bestimmen auch das heutige Aussehen. Die Fassaden aus gelben Ziegeln ruhen auf einem aus dem Stein gefertigten Sockel. Der stilistische Unterschied zu den gotischen Kirchen von Nieuwpoort-Stadt und Sint-Joris ist auf den ersten Blick offensichtlich. Im romanischen Stil dominiert der Rundbogen, während die Ornamentik in der Regel minimal ist. Dennoch ist die Stilreinheit etwas beeinträchtigt durch die Verwendung von Strebepfeilern an dem Turm und den Seitenschiffen, einem Element der Gotik.
