Wir starten am Parkplatz 'Aanwijs' in der Reigerlostraat in Beernem und überqueren die N370 oder Reigerlostraat zu den Vagevuurbossen. Die Wanderung ist über 9 km lang und nicht für Rollstühle geeignet, aber mit Kinderwagen machbar.
Der Vagevuurbos ist 251 Hektar groß und wird von Natuur en Bos verwaltet. Zusammen mit dem nahegelegenen Lippensgoed-Bulskampveld (90 ha vom ANB und 287 ha von der Provinz Westflandern) bildet er das größte Waldgebiet der Provinz Westflandern (628 ha).
Die meisten Wanderer findest du im Provinzdomaine Bulskampveld, wo es ein Besucherzentrum und eine Cafeteria gibt. In den Vagevuurbossen findest du mehr Ruhe und 'echtes' Naturerlebnis.
Im Vagevuurbos wurden im Rahmen des Naturschutzprojekts Biscopveld wichtige Naturrestaurierungsarbeiten durchgeführt.
