Wasserturm von Veerle
Dieser Wasserturm wurde 1974 im Auftrag von Pidpa gebaut. Die wichtigste Funktion eines Wasserturms ist die eines DRUCKREGULATORS. Ein Wasserturm speichert eine Masse an Wasser auf einem bestimmten Höhenniveau, sodass in den Gemeinden jederzeit ausreichend Wasser mit einem vorgegebenen Druck geliefert werden kann. Zuerst wird das Wasser nach oben gepumpt. Die Höhe des Turms und die Schwerkraft erzeugen einen Druck, der einen Mindestdruck an jedem Punkt des Leitungsnetzes garantiert.
