Watertoren van Veerle
Deze watertoren is gebouwd in 1974 in opdracht van Pidpa. De belangrijkste functie van een watertoren is die van DRUKREGELAAR. Een watertoren stockeert een massa volume water op een gegeven hoogtepeil, zodat in de gemeentes steeds voldoende water met een opgelegde druk kan worden geleverd. Eerst wordt het water omhoog gepompt. De hoogte van de toren en de zwaartekracht veroorzaken een stuwkracht, die een minimum druk op ieder punt van het leidingnet garandeert.
