Bis 1798 fungierte die Schlosskapelle des Schlosses von Boelare als Pfarrkirche, später war Nederboelare zur Religionsausübung auf Geraardsbergen angewiesen. Eine eigene Pfarrkirche wurde am 17. September 1972 geweiht. Es handelt sich um eine flach gedeckte Saalkirche mit einem freistehenden dreiseitigen Turm, entworfen von den Architekten E. Leus, P. Gavel (Gent) und R. Borremans (Geraardsbergen), Informationen sind auf einem Gedenkstein in der Halle angebracht. Die Kirche ist seit dem 14.09.2009 als architectonisches Erbe anerkannt.
