Der Bau der Brasserie Harmonie datiert kurz nach 1900.
Zwischen 1900 und 1905 begann der damalige Cercle Liberal mit dem Bau des Cafés und des dazugehörigen Saals; die frühere Stadtfesthalle, die mittlerweile bereits abgerissen ist. Die Mitglieder des Cercle Liberal scheuten keinen Cent und wollten den Ronsenaars zeigen, dass sie „savoir vivre“ hatten und kannten. Bei den Mitgliedern des Cercle war es übrigens üblich, jährlich ein Paris-Wochenende zu veranstalten. Dort hatten sie natürlich die typischen Pariser Brasserien gesehen. So etwas musste auch für das Ronse der Jahrhundertwende sein.
