De bouw van Brasserie Harmonie dateert van kort na 1900.
Tussen 1900 en 1905 vatte de toenmalige Cercle Liberal met de bouw aan van het café en de bijhorende zaal; de vroegere stadsfeestzaal die ondertussen reeds afgebroken is. De leden van de Cercle Liberal keken op geen cent en wilden aan de Ronsenaars laten zien dat ze 'savoir vivre' hadden en kenden. Bij de leden van de Cercle was het trouwens de gewoonte om jaarlijks een Parijs weekend te houden. Daar hadden ze natuurlijk de typische Parijse brasseries gezien. Zoiets moest ook voor het Ronse van de eeuwwisseling.
