Matonge ist ein Viertel in der Brüsseler Gemeinde Ixelles. Die Gegend wird manchmal auch „Klein Zaïre“ genannt wegen der vielen kongolesischen Einwanderer. Es ist ein echtes Arbeiterviertel mit verschiedenen Geschäften (wikipedia, z.d.).
Das Viertel liegt zwischen der Waversesteenweg und der Elsensesteenweg, direkt unter dem kleinen Ring in der Nähe des Namur-Tors (wikipedia, z.d.).
An der Ecke der Solvaystraße mit der Waversesteenweg (N4) befindet sich das Standbild Au-delà de l'espoir. Dieses Kunstwerk wurde 2007 anlässlich der Partnerschaft zwischen Ixelles und Kinshasa entworfen.
