Das Casino auf dem gleichnamigen Casinoplein wurde 1835/1836 von dem Architekten Louis Roelandt unter dem Einfluss der Société d'Agriculture et de Botanique gegründet. Es wurde für die Gentse Floraliën errichtet und bis 1908 dafür genutzt. Danach zogen die Floraliën in das Fest- und Floraliënpalais um. Das Casino wurde während des Ersten Weltkriegs als Militärkrankenhaus genutzt. Von 1935 bis 1945 war die Tierarztakademie (der Vorgänger der Fakultät für Tiermedizin) dort untergebracht. 1945 war das Gebäude bereit für den Abriss.
