El Casino en la plaza del Casino del mismo nombre fue fundado en 1835/1836 por el arquitecto Louis Roelandt bajo el impulso de la Société d'Agriculture et de Botanique. Fue construido para las Floralies de Gante y se utilizó para eso hasta 1908. Luego, las Floralies se trasladaron al Palacio de Fiestas y Floralies. El Casino se utilizó como hospital militar durante la Primera Guerra Mundial. De 1935 a 1945, se alojó allí la Escuela de Veterinaria (la predecesora de la facultad de Medicina Veterinaria). En 1945, el edificio estaba listo para la piqueta.
