Il Casino nella omonima Piazza del Casinò fu fondato nel 1835/1836 dall'architetto Louis Roelandt su impulso della Société d'Agriculture et de Botanique. Fu costruito per il Floraliën di Gand e fu utilizzato per questo fino al 1908. Successivamente i Floraliën si trasferirono nel Palazzo delle Feste e dei Floraliën. Il Casinò fu utilizzato come ospedale militare durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale. Dal 1935 al 1945 vi fu ospitata la Scuola di Medicina Veterinaria (la precorritrice della facoltà di Medicina Veterinaria). Nel 1945 l'edificio era pronto per la demolizione.
