Bereits im 11. Jahrhundert bewohnten die Landesherren das damalige “Hof Ten Driesche”. Im 16. Jahrhundert baute Ritter Evrard de Coutereau den Herrenhof zu einer wahren Burg mit Tor und Zugbrücke um. Seitdem hat das Schloss seinen Ausblick bewahrt und wurde 1978 klassifiziert.
Das Schloss befindet sich seit Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts im Besitz der Familie van der Straten Waillet. Das Schloss ist bewohnt und daher nicht öffentlich zugänglich. Unter Anleitung eines Guides kannst du den Schlosspark und den ‘Ronden Bau’ besuchen, ein außergewöhnliches Bauwerk. Der ausgeschilderte Wanderweg Steenovenpad führt dich zu diesem Schloss.
