Die Pumpstation befindet sich am Deich der Vliet und liegt an der linken Seite des Naturschutzgebiets 'Nordinsel', bekannt für seinen hohen Vogelreichtum. Seit 1976 wird das Wasser der Vliet in einem Sammelbecken gesammelt und über eine Pumpstation in das viel höher gelegene Kanalsystem gepumpt, um Überschwemmungen, wie die von Ruisbroek im Jahr 1976, zu vermeiden.
