La Estación de Bombeo está situada en el dique del Vliet y se encuentra a lo largo del lado izquierdo de la Reserva Natural 'Isla del Norte', conocida por su gran riqueza aviar. Desde 1976, el agua del Vliet se recoge en un embalse y se bombea a través de una estación de bombeo hacia el agua del canal, que se encuentra a una altura mucho mayor, para evitar inundaciones como las de Ruisbroek en 1976.
