Der 'Blaue Stein' in Ophovenderheide bildet die Grenze zwischen Wijshagen, Gruitrode und Opglabbeek. In der Mundart wird dieser Eckstein 'Drei-Dörfer-Punkt' genannt.
Dieser Stein symbolisiert das Ende des unterirdischen Bergbaukonzessionsgebiets der Kempischen Steinkohleminen: Die Zeche von Zwartberg liegt nur einige Kilometer entfernt. In der Nähe des Blauen Steins befinden sich zudem die Tümpel Turfven und Zwartven.
