Noch ein Stück weiter und wir können haltmachen für einen möglichen Snack und Getränke im “’t Schipke aan de Nete”.
Die heutige Brasserie war damals café ’t Schipke mit einer Fähre. Später kam eine Brücke über die Nete, die bei der Verfilmung von Pallieter das Set für einige Aufnahmen war. Felix Timmermans beschrieb die Streiche von Pallieter in dieser Gegend.
Wer hier seinen Bauch voll gegessen hat, kann entlang des Deichs spazieren und sich kurz wie Pallieter fühlen.
Achtung: das letzte Stück Treibholz ist kein Macadam-Weg.
