Der Name Parfondruy kommt von Porfond Ru , was tiefer Bach (Ruisseau Profond) bedeutet und sich auf den lokalen Bach bezieht, der sich tief in den Hügel schneidet.
Während der Ardennenoffensive am 19. Dezember 1944 war Parfondruy Schauplatz eines Massakers an Dorfbewohnern. 24 Menschen wurden von deutschen Truppen in einem Maschinengewehrschuppen erschossen. Allein ein 2-jähriges Kind entkam diesem Massaker unverletzt. Der Weiler hatte nur 50 Einwohner. Etwas weiter gibt es ein Kriegerdenkmal.
Es gibt auch die Kapelle Sainte-Lucie. Die Kapelle ist Lucia von Syrakus gewidmet, einer christlichen Märtyrerin, die im frühen 4. Jahrhundert starb und gegen Blutungen und Augenkrankheiten angerufen wurde.
