Der Heideturm ist 6 Meter hoch .
Die Architektur orientiert sich an den Wachtürmen der Kriegsgefangenen von 1945-1946, die hier in den Zeltlagern waren .
Danach wurde es wieder als Munitionsdepot genutzt . Die Miniaturgebäude wurden 2007-2008 abgerissen . Geblieben sind die Zinnen , hochgezogene Mauern , die im Falle einer Explosion oder eines Brandes ein Übergreifen der Flammen auf andere Gebäude verhindern sollten. An den Südhängen der Zinnen wachsen viele seltene Heidepflanzen .
