Im Jahr 1846 kam es in La Salette zu einer von der katholischen Kirche anerkannten Marienerscheinung vor zwei Hirtenkindern .
Seitdem hat sich La Salette, ein kleines Dorf in der Gemeinde La Salette-Fallavaux in der Nähe von Grenoble , zu einem wahren Wallfahrtsort entwickelt.
