Das Rütli ist eine Bergwiese auf dem Grund der Urner Gemeinde Seelisberg in der Schweiz am westlichen Ufer des Urnersees, eines Arms des Vierwaldstättersees. Auf dieser Wiese soll der Legende nach das Bündnis der drei Urkantone Uri, Schwyz und Unterwalden geschlossen worden sein, der so genannte Rütlischwur.
Es ist nicht bekannt, zu welchem Zeitpunkt und auf welche Weise die Vertreter von Uri, Schwyz und Unterwalden den Beistandspakt besiegelt haben sollen. Ein Rütli – am Mythen – wird erst 1307 erwähnt. Dort hätten die Urner nachts zu den Schwyzern stossen können, um im Morgengrauen nördlich ins Territorium des Klosters Einsiedeln einzufallen.
