Preetz ist eine Kleinstadt südöstlich von Kiel im Kreis Plön in Schleswig-Holstein. Preetz ist aufgrund der einstmals bedeutenden Berufsstände der Schuhmacher auch als die Schusterstadt bekannt und mit rund 16.000 Einwohnern die größte Stadt im Kreis.
Der Postsee, nordwestlich von Preetz gelegen, wird von der Alten Schwentine durchflossen, der Kirchsee im Zentrum und der Lanker See südlich von der Schwentine. Der Kirchsee ist eigentlich nur eine Verbreiterung von der Schwentine. Die Schwentine fließt vom Lanker See durch den Kirchsee weiter in Richtung Kiel.
