1935 kam Walt Disney nach München, weil „Micky Maus“ in bayerischen Kinos lief. Anschließend kaufte er fast 150 Bilderbücher und illustrierte Werke in örtlichen Buchhandlungen, um die jungen Illustratoren seiner Traumfabrik mit europäischer Kunst vertraut zu machen. Deshalb scheinen die Landschaften von Disney-Filmen wie „Bambi“ direkt aus den Gemälden des deutschen Romantikers Caspar David Friedrich zu stammen.
