Außer der angewandten Kunst an der Hochschule gibt es die berühmte Kunstakademie, an der große Namen wie Gerhard Richter und Sigmar Polke studierten. “Die Kunstakademie ist eine der wichtigsten Dinge in der Stadt. Zweimal im Jahr zeigt die Akademie die Arbeiten ihrer Studenten, und das ist jedes Mal der Ort, an dem man sein muss. Man sollte schon an einem Wochentag hingehen, denn am Wochenende kommt man praktisch nicht hinein. Alle sind in diesen Wochen damit beschäftigt, zu urteilen und zu diskutieren, ob es ein gutes Jahr war oder nicht.
