Bad Godesberg ist einer der vier Stadtbezirke der Bundesstadt Bonn und hat 76.156 Einwohner . Bad Godesberg liegt an der südlichen Spitze der Kölner Bucht im Godesberger Rheintaltrichter am Übergang vom Mittel- zum Niederrhein. Der Stadtbezirk grenzt südöstlich an das Land Rheinland-Pfalz.
Des Weiteren existieren 16 statistische Bezirke, die sich teilweise in der Größe und Ausdehnung nur wenig von den Ortsteilen unterscheiden. Auf dem Gebiet des Stadtbezirks existieren folgende Gemarkungen in den Grenzen ehemaliger Gemeinden: Friesdorf, Godesberg, Lannesdorf, Mehlem, Muffendorf, Plittersdorf und Rüngsdorf.
