Anlage auf mehreren Inseln mit Vor- und Hauptburg, zum Teil von breiten Gräften umzogen, zweiflügeliges L-förmiges Herrenhaus, breite Gräften
Die Burganlage stammt in ihren Ursprüngen aus dem 15. Jahrhundert und stellt sich heute als Renaissanceanlage mit barocken Elementen aus dem 17. Jahrhundert dar. Bauherren waren wohl die Herren von Trock und später die Freiherren von Droste zu Vischering. Deren Nachkommen sind bis heute im Besitz von Haus Vorhelm.
