Vom Kurpark aus steigen wir über die Ettersklippe hinauf. Oben angekommen wandern wir weiter zum Molkenhaus und gönnen uns hier eine Rast in freundlicher Atmosphäre. Über den Braunschweiger Weg gehen wir weiter bis zur Eckertalsperre - ein Wunderwerk der Technik. Wir nehmen den Pfad an der westlichen Seite der Eckertalsperre und folgen dem Pionierweg, bis wir zur Eckerquerung gelangen. Auf östlicher Seite, im Bundesland Sachsen-Anhalt, wandern wir zurück zur Talsperre und von dort auf gleichem Wege wieder zum Molkenhaus. Hier folgen wir dann dem Kaiserweg zum Großen Burgberg und wandern von dort wieder herunter ins Tal zum Kurpark, unserem Ausgangspunkt.
