Die Schlacht von Rhode war eine der Schlachten der Rebellion von 197 v. Chr. der iberischen Völker gegen die römische Herrschaft im 2. Jahrhundert v. Chr.
Der Sieg der römischen Republik über Karthago im Zweiten Punischen Krieg ließ Hispania in römischen Händen. Die Umwandlung des Gebiets in eine Provinz führte zu bedeutenden Verwaltungs- und Steueränderungen,[2] und die Einführung des stipendium wurde von den lokalen Stämmen, die noch über eine gewisse politische Struktur und Reaktionsfähigkeit verfügten,[3] nicht akzeptiert, so dass im Jahr 197 v. Chr., kurz nach Ende des Zweiten Makedonischen Krieges, eine große Rebellion im gesamten eroberten Gebiet in Hispania aufgrund der republikanischen Plünderungen ausbrach.
