Hermitage wurde zwischen 1880 und 1881 von Felipe Sainz de Veranda, Stadtarchitekt, auf dem Gelände des ehemaligen Klosters der Heiligen Märtyrer erbaut, als der Paseo de la Ribera von der Molino de Martos bis zum Campo Madre de Dios verlängert wurde.
Im Inneren können Sie einen wunderschönen frühchristlichen Sarkophag aus Carrara-Marmor bewundern, der auf etwa 330 n. Chr. (konstantinische Zeit) datiert wurde und in der Kapelle selbst gefunden wurde. Zwei Szenen schmücken die Vorderseite des Sarkophags: das Krähen des Hahns und die Verhaftung des Heiligen.
