Barr verdankt seinen Reichtum seinen Wäldern, seinen Weinbergen und dem stetig wachsenden Tourismus. Wie Obernai liegt auch Barr am Fuß der Hügel des Kirchbergs und des Altenbergs und ist Teil der 180 km langen elsässischen Weinstraße, die Marlenheim im Norden mit Thann im Süden verbindet. Barr ist das Weinbauzentrum des Bas-Rhin; hier wird der berühmte Grand Cru des Kirchbergs produziert. Werfen Sie auch einen Blick auf den Platz des Rathauses. Das Renaissance-Rathaus aus dem 16. Jahrhundert und die Fachwerkhäuser, zum Beispiel die Auberge Le Brochet aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, haben ihren authentischen Charakter bewahrt.
