Im 11. Jahrhundert ist die Burg von Campbon der Sitz einer gleichnamigen Herrschaft. Sie wurde im 11. und 13. Jahrhundert erbaut. Ein Stein mit der Jahreszahl 1008 wurde beim Graben eines Grabens am Fuße des Turms entdeckt. Im 14. Jahrhundert wird die Burg ein Hinterlehen der Familie von Clisson, bevor sie an die Rohan übergeht. Sie gehört dann Arthur von Montauban und später den Baronen von Pontchâteau. 1565 wird die Herrschaft von René du Cambout, Herr von Coislin, erworben.
