Die Kirche ist sehr bemerkenswert; Sie gehört zum Übergang vom romanischen zum gotischen Stil und hat die Form eines griechischen Kreuzes, so breit wie lang. Acht elegante Türmchen verleihen ihr das Aussehen einer Burg. Ihr Portal ist mit wunderschönen gotischen Skulpturen geschmückt. Der auf dem Gebäude erhobene Turm wurde 1574 zerstört. Autoren nehmen an, dass diese Kirche von den Tempelrittern erbaut wurde und dass eine andere Pfarrkirche, die längst zerstört wurde, in der Mitte der Stadt stand.
